Halloween Makeup Series: Juliet Capulet

Thursday, October 10, 2013

This week's look is a complete 180 from last week! I don't know about you, but I'm excited to see the new Romeo and Juliet movie coming out this Friday (even though nothing will beat the Leo one...) for many reasons...the main one being that Julian Fellowes is the director. I'm a bit obsessed with period dramas and he's one of the best period directors. *Cough Cough* Downton Abbey

Anyway, this look is extremely simple. I wouldn't have really put any makeup on for this look since Juliet is so young and makeup wasn't really popular back then. In fact, it was frowned upon; People who wore makeup back then were either actors or women of the night. BUT since it is Halloween, I did a very natural look. The best part? It's also a perfect everyday look!

Again, links to the products that I specifically used are within. Let's do this:

More after the jump!!

Face:
A fresh and flawless face is key
  1. Blend in a makeup primer all over your face
  2. Apply a layer of a BB or CC Creme all over your face and neck. This will give it a glowy and dewy finish. I also like to use my fingers to apply it as it allows the makeup to melt into the surface.
  3. Use your favorite concealer to cover up any spots and to use under your eyes.
  4. For light contouring, use any BB or CC creme that's a shade or two darker than your natural color and contour your cheekbones and the sides of your face. (We're using liquid so we can keep that natural dewy finish). Blend in with your fingers.
  5. Make a "C" shape in dots with a highlighter around the outside of your eyes. Blend.
  6. Apply a creme blush with your fingers on the apples of your cheeks and slightly bringing it out.
  7. Use a translucent or light powder down the center of the face (Forehead, nose, chin)
Eyes:
  1. Apply a primer all over the lids and up to the brow.
  2. Blend in a matte nude shade (I used "Naked") from the lids to the crease.
  3. With a light shimmery gold shadow, blend it over the nude, focusing on the center of the lids.
  4. With a light shimmery nude, (Naked Palette-"Virgin" and "Sin") apply that to the brow bone, underneath the brow, and to the inner corners of the eyes.
  5. With any dark brown, lightly line the top and bottom lash line before blending it thoroughly with the other colors.
  6. Take your favorite liquid liner and draw a thin line from the middle of your eye (pupil) to the outer corner, flicking it up slightly.
  7. Now, with any matte black, trace over the line and blend it into the brown.
  8. Optional: Fill in your brows with your favorite pencil or shadow
Lips:
  1. Apply a bright red lipstick (whichever color looks best on you) and let that sit for a couple of minutes...I did my hair as I let the lipstick stain.
  2. Carefully wipe off the lipstick, making sure you don't smudge it onto your face. Now there should be a perfect pink/red flushed stain.
  3. Take a pinkish nude pencil and give your lips a bit more definition by blending this color into the stain. Work in tiny circles to achieve a more natural look.
  4. Finish of with a light coat of lipgloss.
And that's it! The hair is really simple too; I just took a regular curling iron and wrapped 1 inch pieces around it in varying directions, combed my fingers through it, and whipped it around a few times.

If you try to recreate this look, then let me know! I want to see pictures...tweet me them or comment below. And if you haven't seen it yet, here's the trailer for the new Romeo and Juliet:

 Toodles my minions!
